A new light concept called Adaptive
Light Control (ALC) is developed with the aim to improve night
time traffic safety.
ALC improves the headlamp illumination by means of continuous adaptation
of the headlamps direction according to the current driving situation
and current environment.
This system reducing the possible impact of insufficient road illumination
as an accident factor.
A new technology of ALC to anticipate in advance which direction
the driver is taking. This is made possible by a system of sensors
and computers which use the car's steering angle, road speed and
lateral acceleration to recognize changes in course even before they
happen.
Adaptive Light Control even employs data from the in-vehicle satellite
navigation system to ensure optimum illumination of the road ahead
in every situation.
