BMW Motorrad Wireless Communication System

The helmet consists of two virtually invisible Array microphones in the forehead area (microphone has a noise level of only 86 dB(A) at 100 km/h.), a digital signal processor (DSP) to filter interference and wind noise, a Bluetooth module, two speakers and an integrated set of batteries.
On the left there is a control panel with three buttons for the functions "On/Off/Select" (this includes the "pairing" which connects the two devices and 'multifunction' for connecting further devices) as well as "+" and "-" for volume control. Depending on the model, weight varies between 1000 and 1700 g.
Voices can be heard speeds of over 150 km/h (where legal), depending on the motorcycle model. For now, only mobile phones with Bluetooth capability can be connected (Max Transmit Range: 10 m).
Later, connections for other Bluetooth devices are planned, such as MP3 players.
