XM® Navtraffic (includes basic weather) & Radio
for U.S. compatible : 550 only
Zūmo can receive optional TMC traffic alerts (in select cities)
when used with a compatible traffic receiver. Press a button on the
screen, and zūmo recalculates route to avoid traffic tie-ups.
This traffic reception will notify of traffic, construction, weather
delays, and automatically suggests alternative routes.
Information displayed contains :
• Type of traffic obstruction (road construction, congestion,
traffic information, road condition, other incident, accident)
• Name of affected road
• Distance from current location to traffic incident
• Direction from current location to traffic incident
Legend
The splash page "Cars" icon shows
that traffic information is being received and sats detected.
FM traffic uses "green" to show slow traffic and orange
for slower traffic.
XM traffic appears to show "green" where there is coverage
but no slow traffic.
Red indicates stopped traffic in both.
Color code (green = traffic still flowing, yellow = traffic partially
congested, red = traffic is heavily congested or stopped)
Subscription
One must purchase either a GTM-20 FM
TMC* traffic receiver installed in the 12vdc power plug (about
$195 + $60 yearly subscription) or a GXM 30 XM Traffic receiver
with a USB connection (about $230 + $205 yearly subscription).
